Directions
The following are general directions to Aldie Mansion; however,
feel free to use Yahoo
Maps, Google
Maps, or MapQuest to get a more
precise set of directions. Aldie Mansion is located in Doylestown,
Pennsylvania approximately one hour from Center City Philadelphia.
FROM PENNSYLVANIA TURNPIKE
EXIT at Willow Grove Interchange
and take Route 611 North toward Doylestown.
Approximately
one mile past the Regal Barn Cinema, Route 611 North
will become more like a highway and there will be a fork in the road. Bear left and stay on Route 611 North.
Take the Route 313 Dublin
EXIT, and then turn right onto Route 313 East.
Go to the
second traffic light at Main Street and turn right.
Go to the second traffic light and turn right onto
Old Dublin Pike.
The entrance to Aldie Mansion is 0.2
mile on the right. (see image of entrance below)
It's the first driveway on the right after the shopping center
FROM ROUTE 202 (HEADING WEST FROM NEW JERSEY)
Take Route 202 West toward Doylestown.
Turn right onto
Route 313. Follow this for a couple of miles to Main
Street.
Turn left on Main Street toward Doylestown.
Go to the second traffic light and turn right onto
Old Dublin Pike.

FROM ROUTE 202 (HEADING EAST FROM NORRISTOWN)
Take Route 202 East toward Doylestown.
At Doylestown Hospital,
take Route 611 North. At some point Route 611 North
will become more like a highway and there will be a fork in the road. Bear left and stay on Route 611 North.
Take the Route 313 Dublin
EXIT, and then turn right onto Route 313 East.
Go to the
traffic light and turn right onto Main Street.
Go to
the second traffic light and turn right onto Old Dublin

Hotels
There are many bed & breakfasts in the area. The Buck’s County Bed & Breakfast Association may help you find one; visit their website or call or e-mail them at 215-862-7154/info@visitbucks.com. If bed & breakfast's aren't much your thing, then the following are 4 places at which we recommend you take a look. The Marriott and the Golden Plough Inn are two locations where we have a group rate for the wedding.

Hotel is just off the PA turnpike and is about 20 minutes from the Aldie Mansion. Price: Mention the Woodring/Hand wedding for a rate of $123 per night.

Lahaska, PA
Located in charming Peddler’s Village and only about 7 minutes from Aldie Mansion. Rooms are a bit frilly and are in a desperate need of some decorating sense, but the village is very charming and shops stay open until 9pm. Includes breakfast. Price: Mention the Woodring/Hand wedding for a rate of $145-265 per night.

The Woodring gang is staying at this campground which is about 25 minutes from the Aldie Mansion. The campground also has cabins and trailers available for rent. Price: $35-65 per night.

Closest hotel to the Aldie Mansion (only 1 mile) and has recently renovated rooms. Located in quaint downtown Doylestown. Price: $195-220 per night.

Fonthill Castle - website
Henry Mercer’s home, Fonthill, built between 1908 and 1912. The interior walls, floors and ceilings are elaborately adorned with an incredible array of Mercer’s original handcrafted tiles.
Mercer Museum - website
Houses dramatic displays of implements, folk art and furnishings of early America before mechanization. Walk into the Central Court and see a Conestoga wagon, whaling boats, carriages and antique fire engines suspended overhead.
Moravian Tile Works - website
A National Historic Landmark and working history museum producing decorative tiles and mosaics in a manner similar to that employed by Henry Mercer.
Pearl S. Buck House - website
Tours of the Pulitzer and Nobel Prize-winning author’s pre-1825 farmhouse.
Shopping
New Hope
A main street along the Delaware River with over 200 unique shops, art galleries, and restaurants.
Peddler’s Village - website
A charming 18th century-style shopping village with specialty shops, landscaped gardens and brick walkways. The Golden Plough Inn is located in the village with rooms above the shops.

Family fun
River tubing and rafting on the Delaware River - website
Tubing, canoeing, rafting and kayaking is a fun trip down the river. This section of the Delaware is typically shallow (only 1-4 feet deep) and fairly warm.
New Hope & Ivyland Railroad - website
Enjoy a 50-minute narrated train ride through scenic Bucks County. Ride the antique coaches pulled by a 1925 Balwin Steam Locomotive or historic diesel engine.
